Dale Simmons

Dale Simmons, 88, of Whitney passed away on June 9, 2009 at Hill Regional Hospital. Dale was born on May 15, 1921 in Wortham, the daughter of the late George and Willie Key Edwards. She grew up in Ennis and lived in many places including California for a number of years. She returned to Texas with her husband, John Leon Simmons in 1984 and they settled in Lakeside Village. Dale was a very giving person and of the Baptist faith. Also preceding her in death were her husband, four sisters and 2 brothers. Survivors: daughter, Shirley Sapotta of Waco; brother, R. T. Edwards and wife Pat of Laguna Park; sisters, Ruth Owens of Waxahachie, Tennie Post of California; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
