Dan Roger Bragg

Dan Roger Bragg, age 71 of Whitney went home to be with Jesus on September 17, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Open Range Cowboy church in Whitney with Pastor Gerald Dudley officiating. Marshall and Marshall are not in charge.

Dan was born January 13, 1951, in Dallas, Texas to Dennie and Addie Mae (Worley) Bragg. He married Lynda Upchurch on December 3, 1982, and immediately started raising three boys. Dan invested many years in youth sports, where he had a passion for coaching and mentoring young men on and off the field. As an avid outdoorsman, Dan loved hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, camping and especially snow skiing, which encompassed twenty-five years of family vacations in Colorado.

Dan worked in construction management for Taco Bueno for 35 years. He was a talented craftsman and was known for being able to build, fix or modify any project. These skills, combined with his willingness to serve, gave him many opportunities to help others. There wasn’t anything that he and his “magic truck” couldn’t fix.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Adaline (Sissy) Roundtree; brothers, Jerry, Tom and Manuel Bragg; and great-granddaughter, Maren Wilson.

Dan is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lynda; sons, Dennie Mac Bragg, Rusty and wife Andrea Bragg and Matthew and wife Christi Bragg; his grandchildren, Raven (Bradley), Madison (Kevin), Mckenah (Xavier), Ty, Grant, Anastyn, Grayson, Elliott and Everett; great grandchildren, Madelyn, Emma, Bryce, Bianca and Ella; 8 nieces and nephews; 18 great nieces and nephews; and 25 great-great nieces and nephews.

One of his greatest joys was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and was always ready with a story or two to entertain everyone. He never met a stranger and wanted everyone to feel welcomed. We will miss his infectious laugh, his kind heart and generous spirit.
