Dan Armstrong, a valued and loved co-worker and friend at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, passed away unexpectedly this past Monday. A long-time Arlington resident and police officer, his arrangements are under the direction of Brown Owens & Brumley Family Funeral Home at 425 S. Henderson Street in Fort Worth. The love and prayers of all of the Marshall & Marshall staff go out to his family in this difficult time. With their permission, we have included his obituary on this site.
Daniel Armstrong, age 60, of Morgan passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, in Fort Worth. There will be a Celebration of Life at 11 AM, Friday, December 7, 2018, at Brown Owens & Brumley’s Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel in Fort Worth. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM, Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Brown Owens & Brumley in Fort Worth. Burial will follow in Emerald Hills Memorial Park in Kennedale.
Daniel was born June 22, 1958, in Port Huron, Michigan, to Arnold and Louise Armstrong. He loved his community, hunting, and working as a mounted police officer with his equine partner, Skipper. A member of Arlington Police Association and CLEAT, he was named officer of the year in 2006. He retired from the Arlington Police Department after 34 ½ years of dedicated service. Following his retirement from the APD, he also worked in security at White Bluff Resorts in Whitney, and most recently, as a funeral assistant with Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro and Whitney.
Daniel was not only a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, he was also a highly admired and respected person in the community. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Carran Armstrong; son, Jonathan Armstrong and wife, Michelle; son, Timothy Armstrong; son, Nathanael Armstrong; son, Clint Paroulek and wife, Cheri; son, Jerramy Barker and wife, Branda; parents, Arnold and Louise Armstrong; grandsons, Ryley, Seth, Camron and Carson; brother, David Armstrong and wife, Debbie; brother, Aaron Armstrong; sister, Jennifer Clinton; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
