Daniel Dan Eugene Fair, 88, of Hillsboro died Thursday, December 10, 2009, at the VA hospital in Temple. Dan was born August 16, 1921 the son of William Talton and Cordie Irene Adams Fair. He grew up in Hill County. During WWII, he served his country in the U. S. Marines. Following the war, he returned to Hillsboro where he lived until 1982. He lived in Dallas and the Cedar Creek Lake area before returning to Hillsboro in 2004. For a number of years, he served as the Veterans Administration Service Officer for Hill County. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of VFW and American Legion. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Mozelle Perdue Fair on Dec. 28, 2007; sister, Jewel Teames Livingston, and niece, Doris Orr. Survivors include a daughter, Paulla Frazier and husband, Van, of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Robert Frazier, Jr. and wife, Laura, of Round Rock and Lisa Soward and husband, Bryan, of Hillsboro; great-granddaughter, Lola Anne Soward of Hillsboro; and two nieces, Jackie and Wayne Musgrave, and Mary Irene and Bob Crawford of Waxahachie.
