Danny Baxter

Danny Ray Baxter, 61, of Malone passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018, at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Pastor Joe Ardy officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Malone. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at the funeral home.

Born September 10, 1956 in San Saba, he was the son of Dennis Elmo and Nancy Jane (Peel) Baxter. During his younger years, he lived all over the country with his family before they settled in Hillsboro. A graduate of Hillsboro High School, he went on to attend Hill College where he trained for auto body repair. On January 8, 1978, Danny was united in marriage to Brenda Monthei in Corsicana and they settled in Malone. He worked for Robintech in Hillsboro and later at Guardian Glass in Corsicana for 14 years. For four years, he and Brenda owned and operated Brenda’s Country Steakhouse in Malone. An avid hunter and fisherman, Danny also enjoyed working on autos and watching football and basketball in his spare time, but most of all he loved spending time with Brenda. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Malone.

Preceding him in death were his parents; in-laws; and grandson, Danny Wayne Lenox, Jr.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Brenda Baxter of Malone; three children, Danielle Marie Reamy and husband, Bryan, of Blooming Grove, Nicholle Renee Baxter of Brazoria, and Brandon Scott Baxter and wife, Megan, of Malone; three brothers, Dennis, Ronny, and Buck; three sisters, Carolyn, Kaye, and Peggy; nine grandchildren, Alexis Gabrielle Baxter, Bryan Tristan Reamy, Noah Martin Richard, Isaiha Lynn Baxter, Gunner Waylon Reamy, Case Hunter Reamy, Paisley Ann Baxter, Jillian Mabelene Lenox, and Cole Martin Baxter; and several nieces and nephews.
