Born on February 28, 1971, in Abilene, Texas, Chad was the loving son of Kathryn and Danny Walsworth.
Chad's love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends was immeasurable. He cherished his role as a husband and brought joy and support to his beloved wife, Nita. Their love story began in Arlington, Texas, in 1999, and they sealed their union in marriage on July 29, 2000. Together, they raised three wonderful children, instilling in them the values of love, integrity, and kindness.
As a grandfather, Chad found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Poppy." His presence brought laughter and warmth to their lives, creating cherished memories that will forever be treasured.
Chad's passion for law enforcement ignited at an early age, and he pursued his calling with unwavering dedication for over 28 years. After graduating from Albany High School in 1989, he embarked on his career in law enforcement in October 1994. Chad served as a police officer in several esteemed departments, including the Tarrant County and Johnson County Sheriff's Offices, as well as the Westworth Village Police Department. In February 1999, Chad joined the Grand Prairie Police Department, where he faithfully served for over 22 years. His commitment to protecting and serving the community was exemplary, leaving a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the citizens he swore to safeguard. Chad concluded his remarkable career on December 12, 2021, when he retired from the Grand Prairie Police Department. However, his dedication to law enforcement persisted as he continued to serve as a reserve police officer for Grandview, Texas, for over a year.
In addition to his commitment to law enforcement, Chad pursued his passion for real estate investing and reopened the Gold Nugget Pawnshop in Hillsboro, Texas. This venture allowed him to explore his entrepreneurial spirit and connect with the local community.
Throughout his life, Chad found solace and joy in his favorite pastimes. As a child and into adulthood, he loved fishing and golfing, finding tranquility in nature and the camaraderie of the golf course.
Chad’s sudden departure has left a void that cannot be filled. His love, compassion, and unwavering dedication will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate his remarkable life and the legacy he leaves behind. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us to live with love, kindness, and passion.
