Darlene Jobe, 72, of Whitney, passed away on October 20, 2016, at her residence. A memorial visitation will be held from 10 A.M until Noon on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Her final resting place will be at Boswell Cemetery in Boswell, Oklahoma at a later date.
Darlene was born on September 13, 1944, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to James and Isadora (Kemp) Philpot. She grew up in Boswell, OK and graduated from Bennington High School in 1962. For several years she worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Agriculture before moving to Whitney where she continued to work for the Department of Agriculture, retiring in 2015.
On April 2, 1994, she married James Oliver “Jim” Jobe and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2014.
Fishing and going to the casino were two of her favorite pastimes. But, she also enjoyed karaoke with her friends 3 or 4 times a week. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rhonda Hogg. brother, James Philpot; sister, Mary Long.
Survivors include her children, Randy Archey and wife Regina Tedder, Lisa Archey, and James Archey; seven grandchildren, Dedrick Archey, William Archey and wife, Shonna, Brandon Archey, Joshua Archey, Taylor Tedder, Jayden Tedder and Jacob Tedder; three great-grandchildren, Kolt Wayne Archey, Kris Blankenship, and Sadie Massengale; brother, George Philpot and wife Charlene and sister Wanda Esker and husband, Bill; and niece Jena Lee Parks and husband, Ray.
