Darlene Willett

Darlene Faulknor Willett, 59, of Whitney passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013, in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Rusty Penney officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the funeral home.

Darlene was born June 24, 1953 in Fort Worth to Homer Henry and Kathleen Beatrice (Taylor) Faulknor. A 1971 graduate of Hillsboro High School, she was an avid music lover who enjoyed playing her guitar and singing. She was very crazy about her pets, especially her raccoon, Shiloh.

On June 4, 1971, she married James L. Willett in Hillsboro. For 12 years they owned and operated the Burger Box. She was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a granddaughter, Angel Willett.

Survivors include her husband, James L. Willett of Whitney; three children, Ronda M. Willett, Tony L. Willett and wife, Mindy, and Joanie D. Hilty and husband, Brian, all of Whitney; three brothers, Henry Faulknor and wife, Barbara, of Hillsboro, Jimmy Faulknor and wife, Inez, of Blum, and Ronnie Faulknor and wife, Mae, of Whitney; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doyle and Colleen Willett of Whitney; sister-in-law, Linda Garcia, of McGregor; six grandchildren, Samantha Hilty, Chyanne Willett, Scarlet Willett, Ryan Hilty, Gabrielle Willett, Danielle Willett; cousin, Kathy Morgan and husband, David, of Whitney; best-friend, Glenda Balderas and husband, Lucio, of Hillsboro; long-time friends, Jimmy and Phyllis Watson and family; goddaughter, Amber Moore; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
