Darra Wallace

Darra Martin Wallace, 57 went home to the Lord on the morning of January 27, 2008. She passed away quietly at home after a long battle with leukemia. Darra was born on Sept. 21, 1950 at Dallas, Texas to A. R. and Fern StricklandMartin. She graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School and Dallas Baptist College of Dallas. Her career in the medical transcription field took her from Dallas to Waco at numerous hospitals and doctors. She married Billy E. Wallace in Dallas on Nov. 12, 1982. The couple spent a few years in Waco before permanently residing in Whitney in 1989. They celebrated their silver wedding anniversary this past November. She attended First Baptist Church in Whitney. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ronald Lynn Martin, Allen Royce Martin and sister, Sandra Carol Martin. Survivors include her husband, Billy; niece, Gino Bono of San Antonio; nephews, Trent Lynn Martin and Steven Lynn Martin both from Dallas. Memorials: The family has asked in lieu of flowers to send memorials to First Baptist Church, PO Box 426, Whitney, TX 76692 or the SPCA of Dallas 2400 Lone Star Dr., Dallas, TX 75212 in her memory.
