Darrel A. Jean, 86, of Arlington died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in Arlington. Darrel was born February 2, 1923 in Grub Hill, Texas the son of Clarence and Mary Ethel Allen Jean. On June 27, 1946 he married Geraldine Bennett in Cleburne. During WWII, he served in the Army Air Force. He received the American Theatre medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, two bronze stars, good conduct medal, Philippines Liberation Ribbon, Victory Ribbon, one service strip and two overseas service bars. He was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Covington and a 50 year plus Mason in the Haltom City Lodge. For 35 years he worked as a plant manager for Swift and Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ethel Jean; a brother, Otis Ray Jean; and two sisters, Pauline Burns and Mozelle Purdue. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Jean; son, Clark Jean and wife, Terri; daughter, Chellafon Rodeffer and husband, David; brothers, Dempsey Jean and Donald Jean; sisters, Kathryn Burnett and Ruthie Hudson; grandchildren, Heather Carter Molin, Jason Moncrief Carter, and Sgt. Evan Jackson Rodeffer; and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ava Molin, Jennifer Bordelon, Joshua Bunkley, and Ricky Hanna. Memorials may be made to Hospice Healthcare Network, 306 E.
