David Drew Anthony Sr., passed away on December 23, 2024 at his home in Whitney, Texas. 

David Drew Anthony Sr., was born on November 6, 1933, in Avalon, Texas to his loving parents, A.B. Anthony and Jewel (Henderson) Anthony. The Anthony's farmed in Avalon, Texas for several decades.

David married the love of his life, Shirley Clary-Anthony in 1970. Together they had Anastasia Anthony Allison and David Anthony Jr.. Later in life, they adopted Stephen Anthony, Christopher Anthony, Jon Anthony, and Zachary Anthony. He had 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. David worked at Tyler Refrigeration in Waxahachie for 40 years, he loved the people that he worked with and often talked about fond memories of his co-workers, the times they shared and the many pranks they pulled on one another. David loved his family and instilled that love for family in his children and everyone he met. He was very close to Flournoy, Wendell, Jimmy, Jan, and JoAnn, his siblings. David was the last of his siblings to go to Heaven and rejoice with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Jewel Anthony; his brothers, Flournoy, Jimmy, and Wendell; and his sisters, JoAnn and Jan.

Left to cherish David's memory is his loving wife, Shirley; his daughter, Anastasia and husband Ben Allison; his sons, David and wife, Brenda, Stephen and wife, Amanda, Chris, Jon, and Zachary; also his beloved grandchildren and precious great-grandchildren.

A private Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Alzheimer's research and the American Cancer Society.
