David Baker, 72, of Wills Point passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011, in Wills Point. Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Heath Cemetery in Huron near Whitney with Mr. Bruce Martin officiating.

David was born February 21, 1939 in Blum to Homer Preston and Bertha Mae (Doty) Baker. He grew up in Dallas and attended school there. He later entered the U. S. Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss where he met and married his wife, Judith Ann Taylor. They moved back to Dallas after his military service. For a number of years they lived on Lake Tawakoni before moving to Carl’s Corner for 10 years. In 1996 they moved back to the lake. For 40 years he worked as a mechanic at Nabors Trailers before retiring in 1997. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Judith Baker on October 20, 2010; and three brothers, Floyd, Homer, and Marrion Baker.

Survivors include his three children, Kimmy Baker of Dallas, Stacy Preston of Winnsboro, and Donna Baker and husband, Bill Higgins, of Quinlan; brother, Douglas Baker of Lake Tawakoni; two sisters, Dorothy Chambers of Arlington and Betty Godwin of Oklahoma; five grandsons, Richard Baker and wife, Amanda, Nelson Baker, David Baker, Kacey Preston, and Kyle Preston; two great-grandsons, Khrystiyan and Khyser Preston; five nephews; and five nieces.
