David Wayne Bartley

David Wayne Bartley, age 56, of Whitney, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Baylor Scott and White hospital in Waco, Texas. There are no funeral arrangements made at this time.

David was born December 4, 1966, in Waco, Texas, to Roy Dean and Kathleen Marie (Densman) Bartley. He grew up in Waco and Hillsboro, Texas, where he went to High school until 1985. David was united in marriage to Patricia Darlene Harrell in Hillsboro on June 13, 1987, they had 34 loving years together. He was a carpenter by trade but a jack of all trades working various jobs from building houses, plumbing, warehouse, manufacturing, mechanical, to cleaning and stocking convenient stores. David touched the hearts of everyone he met and most would walk away from a conversation considering him a friend. He loved to work on cars, build things with his hands, play bingo, watch his cowboys play on Sunday's, spend time with family, and shoot pool and talk crap while doing all of it. His favorite song was Follow Me by Uncle Kracker, his favorite music was country and 80's rock music, and his favorite artists were Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker, and Hank Sr.

David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Darlene Bartley; daughter, Dedra Darlene Bartley; father, Roy Dean Bartley; father in-law, Franklin Roosevelt Harrell; and mother in-law, Lois Harrell.

He is survived by his son, Derek Bartley; daughter, Kara Bartley; chosen daughter, Eliana Hersh; mother, Kathleen Bartley; brothers, Alan Bartley, Roy Lee Bartley, and Anthony Bartley; sisters, Jennifer Greeson, Megan Bartley, (honorary sister) Cameron Chaudoin; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and brother and sister in-laws.
