David Bone


David Charles Boogie Bone 52 went to be with the Lord after an automobile accident in Ellsworth, Kansas on Saturday, July 31, 2010. David was born on November 29, 1957 in Waco Texas to Charles and Jeanette Bone. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and Sam Houston State University. David went to work for Texas Department of Criminal Justice in 1979, working his way to warden. He always said he worked one day shy of working in five different decades for TDCJ. Warden Bone retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice and had recently taken a position as deputy warden at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility in Ellsworth, Kansas. On August 12, 1978 he married Linda Steinkamp in Crawford, Texas. David was a loving husband, father, brother, son and friend. David loved life and brought life to a room when he entered. David loved a good story and was an avid story teller himself. Recently David had started writing a book incorporating his love of history with his many life experiences. For many years David and his family had participated in 19th century living history reenactments and traveled to many states to enjoy this pastime. David played the part of a civil war soldier in the movie Glory and also the part of a U. S. Calvary soldier in the TV mini-series Son of the Morning Star. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Sug and Mildred Bone and Dolph and Faye Stanford. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 32 years, Linda Bone of Huntsville; two sons, Jedediah and wife Jennifer Bone of Alvin, Texas and Josiah Bone of Huntsville, Texas; his parents, Charles and Jeanette Bone of Hillsboro. David was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild a girl to be born in November. He also leaves behind three sisters and their spouses, Bobbie and John Sasso of Newport, RI, Beverly and Terry Neden of Richardson, Texas, Bettie Bone and Jim Howard of Dayton, Ohio; his father -in-law and mother- in -law, Billy Ray and Nelva Steinkamp of Crawford; brothers-in-law, Rich and Angie Steinkamp of Crawford and Fred and Kay Steinkamp of Rosenberg and several nieces and nephews.
