David Andrew Clendennen

David Andrew Clendennen, 81, went to be with his eternal savior Jesus Christ on March 9, 2025 in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney, Texas. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney.

David was born May 24, 1943 in Houston, Texas to Andrew Jackson and Ora (Crawford) Clendennen. He grew up in Longview, Texas, cutting an adventurous path with his two brothers, Jerry and Jimmy. David joined the United States Navy in June of 1960, serving his beloved country till 1966. This same year he reconnected with the love of his life, Billie Mitchell, and they were soon married. Together they had two sons, Tony and Toby. David was a true craftsman working primarily as a welder/ pipefitter and fabricator. If something needed to be done, David found a way to get it done.

In retirement, David truly enjoyed being active in his classic car club and spending time with family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Billie (Mitchell) Clendennen, and brother Jerry Clendennen. 

David is survived by his sons, Tony Clendennen of Whitney and Toby Clendennen and wife Gayle of Grandview; brother, Jimmy Clendennen and wife Paulina of Philadelphia; granddaughter, Kayla Clendennen, Karah Mitchell and husband Tanner of Grandview, Kyndal Clendennen and fiance Riko Jeffers of Lavon; grandson, Daylon Clendennen of Whitney; and 4 great grandchildren, Ian, Owen, Emmet Mitchell of Grandview and Laylani Jeffers of Lavon.
