David House, 57, of Burleson passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, at Texas Health Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Richland Cemetery in Mertens with Rev. Marie Mitchell of The Woods United Methodist Church in Grand Prairie officiating.
David was born June 13, 1959, in Fort Worth to David Henry and Betty Ruth (Oliver) House. Following his graduation from O. D. Wyatt High School in 1977, he went to work for Gearhart Industries. He later became a self-employed mechanic before being employed at NAPA Auto Parts for many years.
A lover of baseball and talented pitcher in his younger years, David was offered a scholarship to play college ball after high school. He was a big Dallas Cowboy and TCU fan. You could always find him hanging out with his buddies. After suffering a series of strokes, David was told by his doctors that playing video games was good therapy. That is when he fell in love with playing Grand Theft Auto on his Sega Genesis. He was a Christian.
Preceding him in death were his parents and grandparents.
Survivors include his daughter, Mindy Mize and husband, Eliot, of Roby; brother, Ronald House and wife, Cecelia, of River Oaks; sister, Angela Lucas of Grand Prairie; four grandchildren, Aleczander Duran, William McGovern, Remington Mize, and Quinlan Mize; two nieces, Tammy Montgomery and Tiffany Bindel and husband, Russell; two great-nephews, Ethan Montgomery and Devin Bindel; two great-nieces, Taylor and Haley Bavol; close friend, Dereak Mayfield; and numerous cousins and extended family members.
