David Turner

David Wayne Turner, 59, of the Canyons passed away in a Clifton hospital on February 23, 2011.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Marshall & Marshall Chapel in Whitney, Texas. Internment will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

David was born on December 2, 1951 in Shenandoah, Iowa and grew up in Kennedale. He has been around the Cedar Shores area since 1959 and moved there as a full time resident in 1990. On February 15, 1998, he married Karen Burnett. He was a member of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and worked in Federal Law Enforcement. He was a member of the Cedar Shores Baptist Church, first responder and volunteer firefighter with the Lakeside Village V.F.D. and on the Board of Trustees of the Cedar Shore Community Chapel. Preceding him in death were his father, David Turner and granddaughter, Autumn.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Turner of Morgan; children, Shawna Turner and Leesa Turner of Arlington, Jessica Stephenson and Leslie Turner-Crawford of Mineral Wells, David Wayne Turner of Godley, Mason Turner and Dustin Ferguson of Morgan; grandchildren, Kaylynn and Harlie Bullard, Chelsea, Mikala, and Savannah Poindexter all of Arlington.
