Deborah Lynn (Patterson) Harless

Deborah (Debbie) Lynn Harless was born January 27, 1956 in Hillsboro, Texas.  She passed away on August 23, 2024 at the age of 68.  She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry Harless.  She is also survived by her daughter, Melissa Bannister and husband Jason, son, Jason Harless and wife Tiffany, six grandchildren: Ben, Sarah Beth, Jacey, JJ, Keegan, and Brayden, her sister, Patti Russell and husband Jim, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Lee Patterson, mother, Melva Joyce Clements, brother, Gary Patterson, and son, Matthew Harless.

Debbie graduated from North Mesquite High School, where she participated in choir.  She continued her love of music and singing, participating in church choirs throughout her life.  One of Debbie’s God given talents was acts of service.  Over the years she has taught Mission Friends, Sunday School, volunteered in youth ministry, prepared meals, and shared her love of crafting with family and friends.  She taught at First Baptist Church Christian School and occasionally helped in the church office.  For years, Debbie served as the Hill Baptist Association Vacation Bible School Director.  Nobody could organize a VBS like her!  This seems fitting, as she first became a follower of Jesus Christ in VBS as a young girl.  Recently, Debbie served as the secretary for the Hill Baptist Association and on the Board of Directors for Latham Springs Camp.  She loved being with her family and never tired of bringing everyone together for reunions and holidays.

Debbie’s celebration of life service will be held at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors at 2495 Corsicana Hwy, Hillsboro, TX 76645 on Saturday, August 31 at 2:00 PM.  Visitation will be held Friday, August 30 from 6:00-8:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Latham Springs Camp and Retreat Center www.lathamsprings.com
