Deborah Gray Stanford, 64, of Whitney passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at White Bluff Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Darrel Phillips officiating.
Deborah was born February 7, 1947 in Hillsboro, where she grew up. She was the daughter of Mack D. and June (Crowe) Gray. In 1965 she graduated from Hillsboro High School and then attended college at The University of Texas at Arlington and East Texas State University. On December 26, 1967 she married Keith Stanford in Hillsboro. For three years they lived in Gatesville and then in Waco for 25 years. For the last 15 years, they have lived in Whitney. Deborah was a talented artist, working with watercolors and oils. She loved spoiling all the children in her family, giving them her undivided attention. She was of the Episcopal faith and a member of the Tuesday Morning Ladies Exploration Group in Whitney.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Matthew Gray.
Survivors include her husband, Keith Stanford, of Whitney; son, David Mack Stanford of Pasadena, CA; daughter, Susan Jane Stanford of Las Colinas; two sisters, Pam Swofford and husband, Kenneth, of Mansfield and Becky Teague and husband, Jet, of Arlington; and nieces and nephews, Suzanne, Scott, Sarah, Sam, Tori, and Mark.
