Deena Ann Lee, of Whitney, passed away on August 23, 2015, at a Hillsboro hospital. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, with Dr. Allan Lane of Fort Graham Baptist Church, officiating.

Deena was born on July 23, 1946, in San Diego, California, to Thomas Gaston and Juanita Ramona (McClain) Frye. On October 26, 1986, she married Oscar Wayne Lee, Jr., in San Diego, California. A civil service employee, she worked for the Department of the Navy Supply Corps, retiring in 1993 as a GS11 in San Diego.

She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Volunteering was very important for her and she was always willing to help out any way she could; she particularly enjoyed helping and assisting the elderly. Her dogs were very special to her and she was an avid animal lover. Deena was a member of the Disabled American Veterans’ Auxiliary in Waco (Chapter 3), the Bluebonnet Arts and Crafts in Laguna Park and Fort Graham Baptist Church in Whitney.

She loved her family very much and especially loved her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Lee; children Kimberly Rew and James Lee and spouse, Jamie; six grandchildren, Marco, Jeffrey, Garrett, Jennifer, Patrick and Jack.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
