Della Curbo, 91, of Whitney, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in Hillsboro. Funeral services for Mrs.Curbo will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday, July 5, at the funeral home.
Della was born on May 13, 1922, in Angleton, Texas, to George and Molley (Noel) Minix. She grew up in the Hill County area and married Willie Jim Curbo who preceded her in death on January 15, 1987. Sewing and cooking were her hobbies as well as her occupation as she was a seamstress for several years before working as a cook at Whitney Hospital for over 35 years. She was a member of the Whitney Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her husband; infant twins; her parents; two sisters and four brothers; and son-in-law Jerry Turner.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane Turner of Hillsboro; son Jim Ed Curbo and wife, Linda of Whitney; grandson James Brody Curbo of Whitney; and Patsy Dumas and husband Billy and their son Larry Dumas, all of Burleson.
Memorials for Mrs. Curbo may be made to the Whitney Church of Christ, P.O. Box 621, Whitney, TX 76692.
