Denara Ruth Motley was born in Navarro County, Texas, June 3, 1924, died in Irving, Texas, April 13, 2006. She was predeceased by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. W. T. Motley; her sister, Mozelle Pass; her brother, W. T. Motley, Jr.; her ex-husband, John W. Morris. She is survived by her sisters Edith Morene Matthews and Husband, Lee; and Loree Brown and husband, William; many nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends. She was a member of Oak Cliff United Methodist Church in Dallas. She was reared on the farm in Irene, Texas and attended school there through the 10th grade and graduated from Hillsboro High School, 1941 and from Hillsboro Junior College in 1943. During World War II she worked in Chemical Warfare Services at an incendiary bomb plant in Grand Prairie as an inspector on the nose section of the B-17 bomber. She attended North Texas State Teachers College in Denton the summer of 1944 and 1945. She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas 1946-1948; at Thomas Potter Oil Company in Dallas in 1949. She went into television work in 1950 in San Antonio for 2 years, returned to Dallas in 1952 to work one year at WFAA-TV, Channel 8. She moved to the West Coast in 1953 and worked for 30 years at ABC Network in Hollywood, California, and retired in 1983. She moved back to Dallas in 1989.
