Dennis was born September 12, 1950, in Hillsboro, Texas, to Jesse and Ellen (Walker)Hunt. He was married to the love of his life, Rhonda Kay Jones, for fifty-three years. He had one daughter, Shannon Rene Herrell and one granddaughter, Jacalyn Paige Herrell, whom he dearly loved. Dennis served in the National Guard as a medic in the Airborne Division from 1969 to 1975. He was a hard worker his whole life providing for his family to make sure all their needs were met. He was a dedicated father and Papa and loved his girls with all his heart. Many others saw Dennis as a father figure and a Papa through the years. He was a friend to many and would share his knowledge of fishing, cooking, farming, or raising animals with anyone. Dennis had two places he loved the most, his home and the lake. He loved being at home on his farm where he enjoyed his coffee each morning with his sweetheart and two fur babies, Belle and LuLu before tending to the other animals or working in his garden. Although Dennis is gone, he will always be in our hearts and minds for the rest of our lives.
