Dennis Peyton

Dennis Russell Peyton age 59, of Whitney passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at a Waco hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Colton Yarbro and Rev. Scott Pelham. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Garden of Memory Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Dennis was born on September 26, 1958 in Chula Vista California to Gerald and Joyce (Cheshier) Peyton. He graduated from Georgetown High School in 1977. On May 3, 2014 he married Rebecca “Becky” Dutton in Whitney, Texas.
Dennis enjoyed rodeos and in his younger years he rode bulls and continued to follow the PBR events. He was also a fan of the Texas Rangers Baseball team and the Dallas Cowboys. He was very supportive of the Whitney community where he coached and sponsored Little League baseball and softball in Whitney. He was a big help to his children when they were involved in BMX and gocart racing. Dennis was an avid poker player, attending the 2009 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Dennis was the owner and operator of Mr.G’s Quick Stop in Whitney for 20 years. He was a volunteer for the Whitney Fire Department and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife Becky Peyton, parents, Gerald and Joyce Peyton; children, Chris Peyton, Steven Peyton and wife, Elizabeth, Jennifer Copeland and husband, Matthew, Samantha Dutton, Sissi Hester and husband, Dalton and Donovan Pathak; 8 grandchildren, Cole, Gage, Ethan, Cohen, Collyn, Micah, Bryce and Peyton.
