Deverne Jackson

Deverne Maurice Jackson age 85 of Whitney, was born in Shelbyville, Texas on September 25,1925 and passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in Whitney, Texas where she lived for the past 17 years.

Graveside services will be held at noon, Friday, September 9, 2011 at Whitney Memorial Park with Mr. Glenn Gray officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 AM, Friday morning prior to service at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Deverne worked into her mid 70's as a real estate broker both in Odessa and later in Whitney. She lived life to the fullest and had an adventurous and loving spirit and her fondest times were lovingly spent with her family. She enjoyed antique shopping, sewing, cooking for family and friends, reading her bible, listening to music and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Deverne is preceded is death by her parents Velda and Keith Park and brother, Billy Armistead.

She is survived and cherished by her five children, son, David Pearson and daughter-in-law, Karen of Whitney; four daughters, Beverly Kasparek and Celia Ambrose of Odessa, Karen Hearn and son-in-law, Carl of Mesquite and Becky Mills and son-in-law, Bill of Coppell; fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren as well as a host of other loving family members and friends.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Heart for their extraordinary care and concern throughout her illness. Additionally, the family would like to thank Park Plaza Nursing Home staff for their care, support and love shown to Deverne and her family.
