Diana S. Balderas, 68, of Whitney passed away Monday, March 4, 2019, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. A visitation with the family will begin at 9 a.m. Friday March 8, 2019 with a rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Ouseph Thekkumthala officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the funeral home.
Born August 2, 1950, in Kingsville, Texas, she was the daughter of Jose and Maria (Garcia) Salinas. Diana was united in marriage to Joseph Robert Balderas on February 8, 1975. For 12 and ½ years, she was employed by CertainTeed and 12 and ½ years at Cercon as an Accounting Clerk before her retirement. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. During her time not working, she enjoyed cooking, especially her potato salad. She also liked playing bingo, taking care of plants, and reading. Diana loved taking care of her own grandchildren or anybody else’s children, she was a caretaker to many people.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Rene Salinas; sister, Sandra Daughtery.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; daughter, Christina Clark and husband Kyle; siblings, Norma Martinez, Hector Salinas and wife Margaret, Jose Salinas Jr., Fernando Salinas and wife Nita, and Severo (Cheve) Salinas and wife Frances; grandchildren, Mason Solorzano and Addyson Clark; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins .
