Doak Elroy Goains, 68, passed away after many years of declining health on October 31, 2022, at his home in Itasca, with his son Jason by his side.  Graveside services with military honors will take place at 2:30 pm, Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, November 14, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Doak was born February 10, 1954, in Long Beach, California, to Jason E. and Julia Mae (Rose) Goains. He joined the California Army National Guard then moved to Texas, transferring to the Texas Army National Guard. He retired after twenty years of service, during which time he also served as an Itasca Police officer.

He shared is love of hunting and fishing with his son, Jason.  Together, they won multiple awards in several Bass tournaments.

Doak was preceded in death by his parents, Jason E. and Julia Mae Goains; and one granddaughter, Journey.  He is survived by his son, Jason T. Goasins; his daughter-in-law, Megan Goains; and four beautiful grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jace, Justyn, and Mason.
