Dolores Grimes

Dolores Grimes, age 85, of Whitney passed away February 18, 2011 in local nursing home..

Services will be held on Thursday, February 24th at 10:30 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney with Dr. James R. Haner and Rev. Francis W. Mennenga officiating. Interment will follow at St. Olaf Cemetery near Cranfills Gap. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Marshall & Marshal Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Dolores was born on January 6, 1926 in Zimmerman, MN. the daughter of John and Lena(Ott) Schmeige. She grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Elk River High School. She married Virgil Schleif on December 16, 1944, they moved to Whitney in the early 1970's and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1992. In March of 1999, Dolores married Clay Grimes . She was a housewife and was a founding member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitney. Dolores was preceded in death by her son, Terry Schleif and her brother; Howard Schmiege.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Clay of Whitney; daughters: Gladys Lynott and husband, Terry of Nampa, Idaho, Bruce Schleif and wife, Deborah of Campbell, TX, step-daughter; Sharon Bakos and husband, George of Irving, TX.; two brothers; Malon Schmiege, and Elton Schmiege of Zimmerman, MN.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
