Don Smith

Biography

Don Clyde Smith, 65, of Laguna Park, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at his home after a 3 year battle with cancer. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013.

Don was born on September 19, 1947, in Hamilton, Texas, to J.D. and Juanita Smith. He graduated from Clifton High School and served in the United States Army. He was a man with a strong work ethic and worked as a supervisor for Wilson’s Moulding for many years. He enjoyed living at Lake Whitney and all that it had to offer including spending time with his grandchildren.

Don was well known for being the kind of man that others could count on. He was always willing to help someone in need.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Linda (Carpenter) Smith, of almost 47 years; brother, Micahel D. Smith; daughters, Allanna O. Smith, Jennifer Smith Dickens and her husband, Shawn Dickens; four grandchildren, Taylor, Hayley, Parker, and Jordan; and many extended family membersl.

The family would like to give thanks to the Carpenter family and Providence Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Hospice, P.O. Box 2081, Whitney, TX 76692.
