Don Tidwell

Don Tidwell,75, of Whitney passed away on May 7,2016, at a local nursing home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Rusty Penney officiating. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the funeral home.

Don was born on December 15, 1940 to Odell and Ona Mae Tidwell. He graduated from Whitney High School where he played football and went on to play at Navarro Junior College, as well. He sold for Snap-On Tools for a while and was in the printing supply business for some time. On September 29, 1962, Don was united in marriage to Donna Kay Carroll. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2013. He served his country in the Texas National Guard. He enjoyed his Corvettes, hunting, and fishing in his spare time.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Glen and Jimmy Tidwell.

Don is survived by sons, Monte Tidwell and wife, Julie, of Whitney and Lance Tidwell and fiancee, Margo Fuller, of Cypress; one sister,Betty Ruth Ward, of Whitney; and grandchildren, Justin Tidwell, Cassidy Callaway, Abby Tidwell, Mikah Tidwell, Coleton Tidwell, Braydon Tidwell, and Mikayla Tidwell.
