Don Underwood

Don Underwood, 89, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in Hillsboro, Texas.  No services are planned at this time.

Don was born in Whitney, Texas on October 24, 1932, to Oliver Doyle and Lometa (Watson) Underwood.  He grew up in Hill County, graduated from Hillsboro High School, then served his country in the United States Army.  While stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Don met his future wife.  He was united in marriage to Bettie Wheatley on February 4, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was employed as a cabinet maker for much of his career, then as a mold maker for Vesuvius in Hillsboro until his retirement.  He enjoyed reading and photography.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Steve Underwood.   He is survived by his wife, Bettie Underwood; his daughter, Sheri Hemrick and her husband Tom; his son, Chris Underwood and  Annette; two grandchildren, Kristi Webb and her husband James, Ben Underwood and his fiancé Ashley; and three great-grandchildren, Eli, Parker, and Reese.
