Donald Blount

Donald was born November 16, 1925 in Hillsboro, Texas to Harry G. and Mary Mildred Frazier Blount. He lived in Hillsboro all of his life, graduated from Hillsboro High School, and attended Hillsboro Junior College. During WWII he served in the U. S. Air Force. In 1946 he went to work for the Postal service, retiring on June 1, 1986 after 40 years of service. On January 28, 1955 he married Jo Nell Sonnenberg at Church Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. He was an animal lover, especially dogs, and was a dedicated Texas Longhorn fan having had season football tickets for over 20 years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Teddy Crowley, in 1967. Survivors include wife, Jo Nell Blount of Hillsboro; a son, David Blount and wife, Lisa, of Fort Worth; a grandson, Drew Blount of Fort Worth; a brother, Harry F. Blount and wife, Kathy, of Hillsboro and their daughter, Becky Blount, of Abilene; and a brother-in-law, Keith Crowley and wife, Louise, of Austin and their daughters, Donna, Sandra, and Claudia.
