Donald D. “Jimmy” Cox, of Whitney, passed away on June 12, 2018, in Waco. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2018, at Peoria Cemetery in Peoria with Rev. Doyle Cathey officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.
Jimmy was born on July 16, 1935, in Blum, to Dan and Mary (Shotwell) Cox. In 1954, he married Wanda Porter and she preceded him in death in May of 1992. On November 9, 2007, he married Carol Clendennen. Jimmy was a truck driver and worked in road construction for 30 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
He loved his family and dancing. In 2017, he was baptized into Christ.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Donald Ray Cox; a daughter, Peggy Sue Rice and a grandson, Patrick Neil Harris; a brother, Herbert Cox and a sister, Joyce Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Cox of Whitney; children, Pamela Moosey, Sherry Knutson, and Sheila Starks; a step-son, Jason Clendennen; grandchildren, Dale Wilsford, Kevin Keel, Stephanie Johnson, Jason Knutson, Johnny Tuttle, Barron Vandervoort, Justin Knutson, Crystal Cox, Nicole Cox, D.J. Starks, Joshua Starks, and Heather Starks; and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Adams, Carolyn Wicker, and Gloria Witt; and a brother, Johnny Cox.
