Donald "Don" Ellison

Biography

Donald Lee Ellison, 82, of Morgan, passed away on July 16, 2013 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 26, 2013, at Steiner Baptist Church near Morgan, Texas.

Don was born in Gatesville, Texas, on June 12, 1931, to the late Hardy and Eva Love (Simpson) Ellison. He lived in Temple, Texas all of his life. On March 30, 1951, he married Barbara Wiggins. Donald served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years, and after serving he went to work for the A&P Grocery Store before going to work for the Santa Fe Railroad where he worked for 30 years before retiring. After retiring he moved to Whitney in 1987.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Morgan; children, Michael Lee Ellison and wife, Brenda of Orange, Donna June Ellison of Georgia, and Eric Clay Ellison of Marlin; brothers, Harold Ray Ellison of Arkansas and Bob Ellison and wife, Johnnell of Temple; sister, Linda Johnson of Temple; and 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
