Donald Gunn

Donald R. Gunn, 70, of Hewitt died Friday, December 21, 2007, in Hewitt. Donald was born August 17, 1937 in Waco the son of Lonnie Ray and Annie Mae Rodgers Gunn. He grew up in the Mayfield Community in Hill County and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1955 and graduated from Navarro College in 1957. He attended Arlington State College and earned his Financial Certificate from the University of Connecticut. On August 17, 1957 he married Joyce Sides and this past August they celebrated 50 years of marriage. He worked in the banking industry in Dallas, Sherman, Bay City, and Bryan. He transferred to Waco Division Brazos Savings and Loan as Executive Vice President in 1983. In 1997 he retired from Guaranty Federal Bank. Donald was a member of First Baptist church in Woodway, past president of Waco Founder Lions Club, and a founding member of Grayson County Juvenile Alternatives. Survivors include his wife Joyce Gunn of Hewitt; children, David Gunn and wife, Gina, of Allen and Brenda Lewis and husband, Chris, of Hewitt; and four grandchildren, Joey Gunn and wife Leslie, Julee Gunn, Brian Lewis, and Holly Lewis.
