Donna was a native Wacoan, graduating from Waco High School in 1946. She worked for the Waco Tribune-Herald from 1948-1957 and then was a secretary at General Tire for several years. Donna returned to the Tribune-Herald and worked there until her retirement in 1991.

Donna had many friends and always enjoyed visiting with them and her family. She especially loved and cherished her life-long friends, Edward and Dollie Staas, Bill and Jaden Swenson, and Virginia Steinke, as well as numerous cousins.

Donna loved her kitty cats and never turned a stray kitty away. She was given the nickname “meow meow” by her grandson, Travis. She enjoyed playing bingo and was a life-long Baylor Bear fan. She always had her “Lucky Bear” by her side when she watched the Bears on television. Donna was a member of Austin Ave. United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cue Lowery and Ernest Lyle Alexander; and her two brothers Bob Alexander and D.J. Alexander.

She is survived by her son, Jason Abbott, and wife Kimberly, of Hillsboro; two grandsons, Travis and Ayden Abbott; and sisters-in-law, Verna Mae Granger and Norma Loree Alexander.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro for their genuine love, compassion, support and care they gave to Donna. You are in our hearts and will always be a part of our family.
