Donnie Derington

Donnie Derington, age 61, of North Richland Hills passed away Friday afternoon, April 15, 2016, in Cleburne. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Peoria Cemetery near Hillsboro with Rev. Scott Ketchum officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Donnie was born on January 7, 1955, in Hobbs, New Mexico to Merrill and Juanita Faye (Laramore) Derington. He grew up in Hillsboro, where he attended school. Following school, he went to work for Texas Steel for eight years. In 1982, he joined C D Hartnett where he worked as a truck driver and warehouse supervisor for 27 years until his retirement, due to health. Donnie was of the Baptist faith.

In his youth, he enjoyed racing on dirt tracks. An avid NASCAR fan, he was privileged to attend the opening of Texas Motor Speedway in 1997. Following both the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys also contributed immensely to his entertainment. But most of all, he loved to dote on his grandkids.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Ellen Laramore, and step-brother, Larry Laramore. Survivors include his children, Jay Derington and fiancée, Vickey Rushing, of North Richland Hills and Mattie Price and husband, Kris, of Azle; three sisters, Sharon Carter of Cleburne, Kay Peel of Whitney, and Cindy Derington of San Angelo; three brothers, Jerry Derington of Cleburne, Terry Derington and wife, Yvonna, also of Cleburne, and Peter Derington of Peoria, Illinois; two step-brothers, Noland and Billy Laramore; ten grandchildren, Taylor, J.D., Jason, Austin, Lisa, Katie, Westin, Ashlynn, Jolee, and Christian; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
