Doris Brown

Doris L. Brown, 84, of Hillsboro passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at a Hillsboro hospital. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 17, at Ridge Park Cemetery with Rev. Mac Sullivan of Peoria Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Doris was born in Hill County on February 12, 1931 to Staley and Grace (Mathis) Goodman. She lived in Hillsboro and Hill County most of her life. On June 16, 1951, she was united in marriage to Alton L. Brown. Alton preceded her in death on December 30, 2004. Also, preceding her in death were her parents; son, Gary D. Brown on October 2, 2002; two brothers, Ed Goodman and R. D. Goodman; and four sisters, Effie Mae Goodman, Alice Ridlehuber, Ruth Mayo and Virginia Thomas.

Survivors include four children, Glenn Brown of Hillsboro, Lynn Brown, and wife, Cindy, also of Hillsboro, Delores K. Ricker and husband, Stephen, of Brandon, Mississippi, and Randy C. Brown and wife, Jean, of Peoria; one brother, Billy Ray Goodman and wife, Judy, of Dallas; ten grandchildren, Jason, Amy, Emily, Rickey, Joshua, Jerry, Joseph, Larry, Gary Jr. and Lori; and 15 great-grandchildren.
