Doris Chenault, 80, of Whitney passed away on June 4, 2008 in Whitney. Doris was the daughter of Ted J. and Sudie Mae Miller Farmer. At the age of three she and her family took the train to Dallas where her father went to work for Proctor & Gamble. She graduated from Sunset High School. In 1946, she married David Chenault. As musicians they toured the country before settling in Oak Cliff. They owned and operated the Mardi Gras Club for a number of years. She also worked as a payroll supervisor for Pizza Inn. She was a Methodist. She moved to Whitney in 1991. She enjoyed fishing and loved animals and had names for the birds that came to her feeder. Her greatest love was her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband and sister, Annel Palmer. Survivors include her children, David Brian Chenault of Dallas, Terry A. Chenault of Whitney, Wayne P. Chenault of Whitney, Carol Lisa Chenault of Laguna Park, Steve K. Chenault of Whitney; brother, Ted S Farmer of AZ.; grandchildren, Erika, David, Christopher, Travis, Jonathan, Ancelia, Crystal, Alicia; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials: In lieu of flowers a fund has been established for Doris at First National Bank, PO Box 547, Whitney, TX 76692
