Doris Jean Cook, 77, of Hillsboro died Monday, June 15, 2009, at her residence. Doris was born June 7, 1932 in Kiowa, OK the daughter of William Wilbur and Una Culbert Johnson. She came from a large family. They lived in many places in her youth including in Dickens County, TX. For 45 years she lived in Plainview before moving to Hillsboro in 2008. She was a seamstress, homemaker, and a really good cook. She also enjoyed arts and craft work. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Roy G. Cook; five brothers, Pine, Bud Luther, Larman, Lawrence, and Bob Johnson; and a sister, Beulah McWatters. Survivors include four sons, Johnny B. Littlejohn of Colorado, William Lee Shockley of San Antonio, and Brian Cook of Hillsboro; daughter, T. J. Presley of Hillsboro; three sisters, Ruby Nichols of Plainview, Frances Walls of Fort Worth, and Opal Conn of Drain, OR; five grandchildren, Kami Jennings, John Paul Presley, and Bran, Colt, and Logan Littlejohn; and three great-grandchildren; Haygon T. Jennings, Emma Presley, and Lane Riley Pace. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1700 Lake Success Dr., Waco, TX 76710.
