Doris Crain

Doris Lucille Galiga Crain, 87, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2006. Mrs. Crain was born January 22, 1919 in the small community of Osceola, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Lillie Mae Shelton Galiga and William Thomas Galiga. On December 14, 1941 she married Julius Crain. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1987. Mrs. Crain was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro. She had served on many of its committees and boards including serving as director of the primary department for many years. She had a great love for the church choir and was an active member for years. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, P. T. Galiga, J. W. Galiga, and W. C. Galiga. She is survived by a son, Sam Crain and wife, Vicki, of Hillsboro; daughter, Cathy Mackey of Hillsboro; grandsons, Jim Mackey and wife, Jody of Montgomery, and Jay Mackey and wife, Kara, and Matt Crain and wife, Nicole, all of Hillsboro; two great-granddaughters, Maddie Mackey of Montgomery and Meredith Mackey of Hillsboro; great-grandson, Gus Crain of Hillsboro; sister, Dotsy Lawrence of Doss; several dear nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
