Doris Dutton

Doris Dutton, 92, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Ken James officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.

A life-long resident of Hillsboro, Doris was born on March 22, 1923, in Hillsboro to John and Charlcie (King) Harrington. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in the Class of 1941. Doris and Milford Dutton were united in marriage on August 30, 1940 in Blooming Grove. Milford would precede her in death on October 12, 1999.

For more than 20 years, she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator. A dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, she rarely missed a service as long as she was able to attend. Doris was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, J. C. Harrington; and a sister, Marchieta Dumas.

Her survivors left to cherish her memory include her son, Larry Wayne Dutton and wife, Elaine, of Lubbock; granddaughter, Kimberly Marshall and husband, John, of Austin; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Reagan and Ryleigh.
