Doris Marsh

Doris Marsh, 85, of Mayfield passed away Friday January 11, 2019, at Alvarado Meadows Nursing and Rehab Canter in Alvarado, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Danny Gilliam officiating. Burial will held at Fort Graham Cemetery near Whitney, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, January 14, 2019 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors.

Doris was born August 7, 1933 in the Mayfield Community of Hill county. She was the daughter of William C. and Gladys Eva (McCullough) Malone. She attended Mayfield School and then graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1950. She worked at Kresses in Hillsboro at the candy counter and that is where she met her future husband, Thomas Regnail “Tommy” Marsh Sr. And they were united in marriage on October 31, 1950 in Whitney. They lived on a ranch in Whitney after they were married for one year. Then they moved to Ft Worth where she worked for Montgomery Ward. Later Doris and Thomas moved to Mayfield and lived there for 3 years, then after that they moved to Hurst and settled there till 1975, but then moved to Amarillo till 1977. After that they were moved overseas for her husbands job for 2 years. Then back to the states to live in Panhandle, Texas. In 1990 they were able to move back to Mayfield and bought the house that she was born in.

Doris was a homemaker and she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, gardening, and playing the piano.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and her husband Tommy Marsh on March 30, 2008.

Survivors include her children, Reggie Marsh and wife Sandy of Alvarado, Texas, Randy Marsh and wife Tracy of Winechester, Virginia, Sandra Lee and husband Donnie of Mayfield, Texas; brother, Kenneth Malone of Grandbury, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Corie Hall and husband Joe of Huntingtown, Maryland, Crystal Squire and husband Charles of North Richland Hills, TX, Jack Dunn, Jr. of Ft. Worth, TX, and Scott Dunn of Mayfield, TX; 5 great-grandchildren, Evan Squire, Liam Squire, and Collin Squire all of North Richland Hills, TX, Caleb Hall and Amelia Hall of Huntingtown, Maryland and numerous cousins nieces and nephews.
