Doris Mccain

Doris McCain, 70, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Derrell Surface and Mrs. June Haver officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday prior to service time at the funeral home.

Doris was born November 9, 1943 in Montague County to Carl Chilton and Blanche (Sours) Pendergrass. On May 2, 1970, she married Lynn McCain in Vernon. For 20 years, she served as a nanny for the Cavner and Sadler families in the Dallas area. She loved caring for their children.

A very kind and gentle spirit, Doris was the most caring person you would ever meet. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Hillsboro and had a deep and devoted faith in God. Before her illness, she enjoyed walking and hiking.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Lynn McCain of Hillsboro; daughter, Carol Ann McCain of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Walter Hall of Dallas; three sisters, Virginia Steele of Geary, OK, Pauline Rickard of Wichita Falls; and Louise Brewer of Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Church, 401 North Pleasant Street, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
