Doris Pond

Doris Lanell Pond, 53, of Malone, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2005, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Doris was born December 23, 1951 in Hillsboro, Texas the daughter of Adolph and Elna Louise Reinke Lander. She was raised in the Birome and Penelope area and graduated from Penelope High School in 1970. On January 6, 1986 she married Walter Pond in Hubbard. She was a very hard worker who loved to be outside and work in her yard. She also loved animals, dancing, and caring for others. She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Malone. Preceding her in death were her mother, Elna Louise Reinke Lander; and two brothers, Kenneth Paul Lander and Kermit Wayne Lander. Survivors include her husband, Walter Pond of Malone; father and step-mother, Adolph and Mary Lander of Malone; daughter, Ashley Pond of Malone; brother, Elvis Lander and wife, Bratt, of Malone; sister, Lanet Klanika of Birome; father-in-law, Willard Junior Pond of Corsicana; two brothers-in-law, Willard Pond and wife Jodie, of Centerville and James Pond and wife, Christine, of Onalaska; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Garrett of Irene and Donnice Sorrell of Hubbard; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
