Doris Marie (Adams) Radke passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, in Waco, Texas.  Graveside services will take place at 11:00 AM, Friday, June3, 2022, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro, Texas.  Visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:30 PM, Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas.

Doris Marie Adams-Radke was born October 7, 1944, in Cedar Park, Texas to her parents. From age eight to eighteen, she was raised in the Presbyterian Children’s Home by her loving cottage parents Mama and Papa John.

She was a proud basketball player and graduate of Itasca High School class of 1964. Following graduation, she attended nursing school at Hillsboro Clinic Hospital and completed the LVN program. During nursing school, Doris made a home with Erna Kirk, where she developed a sisterhood with Kay Kirk Savant, Yolie Beavers and Paula Sullins. At this time Kay introduced her cousin, Alvis “Pete” Radke to Doris. On April 22, 1966, in Hillsboro, they were united in marriage. Pete and Doris were married fifty-three years. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Their family grew to include three daughters: Melissa, Deana, and Diane.

Doris worked passionately at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro for forty-two years. After retirement, she worked part time as a nurse and caregiver.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, and her husband, Pete. Survivors include daughters; Melissa Carter and her husband, Randy of Hillsboro, Deana Montes and her husband Richard of Bynum, and Diane Pace of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Brandi Bennett and her husband Eric of Hillsboro, Cody Carter and his wife Kasey of Hillsboro, Holly Hall and her husband, Shawn, of Nolanville, Clint Watson and his wife, Courtney, of Rogers, Danielle Rutherford of Burleson, Ashleigh Rutherford of Burleson, Lauryn Rutherford of Burleson, and Colton Pace of Waco; four great-grandchildren, Bryce, Bailey, Carter and Kinsley.  In addition, Doris had many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Doris was called to her eternal home by her Lord on Monday, May 30, 2022. Her mortal body will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Garden of Memory, Hillsboro, Texas, there to await the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting promised by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
