Dorothy Lee Brooks, 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro, with Pastor Michael Nemec officiating.

Dorothy was born December, 12, 1932 in Marlin, Texas, the daughter of Fred W. And Meta (Huse) Mandel. When she was 12 years old she moved to Malone, attended Salem Lutheran school and graduated from Bynum High School in 1950. Dorothy was united in marriage on February 7, 1953 to Jack Brooks and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2012. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Hillsboro, then transferred to Ft. Worth and later Dallas. After 33 years of working for the telephone company, she retired as an administrative assistant with AT&T in 1996. She enjoyed working and it gave her great joy and pride.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and her brother, William Mandel on August 17, 2018.

She was survived by her nieces, Karen Brooks Cotten and husband Billy, Suzette Meachum and husband Rob; nephews, Brent Wadle and wife GiGi and Michael Mandel and wife Faye.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 915 Corsicana Highway Hillsboro, Texas 76645.
