Dorothy was born June 10, 1915 in Edmond, Oklahoma to Charles Fred and Ohla Kathryn Hunt English. For the past six years she lived in Waxahachie and had previously lived in Oklahoma and other parts of Texas. At the bombing of Pearl Harbor, she was in Honolulu, Hawaii. On April 10, 1948 she married John Robert Christmas in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on March 17, 1988. Her husband and she helped start South Plains Jr. College in Levelland, Texas and San Jacinto Jr. College in Pasedena, Texas. John established and was head of industrial arts, while Dorothy established and was head of the food service department. She was a member of Eastern Star. Also preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters. Survivors include four children, Margaret Bailey of Slidell, Louisiana, Stanley Christmas and wife, Judy, of North Richland Hills, Mary Ray of Bridgeport, and Jan Christmas of Waxahachie; nine grandchildren, Jim Bickerton, Cheryl Bickerton Louviere, Drew Christmas, Kirk Bailey, Gwynn Stancil Christmas, Jenny Ray Stilwell, Autumn Ray Rizzi, Laura Sulak Hancock, and Sandra Sulak Plumb; and 12 great-grandchildren.
