Dorothy Lee Johnston 86, of Laguna Park, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Whitney Memorial Park.Officiating will be Rev. Curtis McGehee of Abiding Life Full Gospel Church. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM. Monday, November 11, 2013 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Dorothy was born on July 25, 1927 in Hubbard, Texas to James D. and Vera Bell ( Stapleton ) Paris. She grew up in Hubbard and married Billy Johnston in 1942, he preceded her in death on July 10, 1990. Dorothy worked with her husband in the West Texas oil fields and later they owned and operated Wilkins Harbor, which is now known as the Cliffview Resort in Laguna Park. Dorothy also worked for Rangeaire in Itasca in the manufacturing and assembly department. Bill and Dorothy also owned and operated the Dairy Palace in Hillsboro. Dorothy’s past times were painting and playing golf. Above all,she was a devoted housewife, mother ,and grandmother which loved her family very much and loved to be with the family.

Preceding her in death was an infant son Robert Johnston and a grandson Chance Johnston.

Survivors include her children Rusty Johnston of Laguna Park, Ronnie Johnston and wife Belinda, of Mississippi, Judy Carter and husband Jim of Robinson, Melody Cain and husband Doug of Whitney, and Steve Johnston of Laguna Park, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
