Dorothy Faye (Wittie) Mosier

Dorothy Faye (Wittie) Mosier passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, in West, Texas.  Visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, October 15, 2023, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 16, 2023, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors, with pastor Edward Sumrall officiating.  A burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory.

Dorothy Faye was born in Gatesville, Texas on January 17, 1929, to John Elmer Wittie and Lillie Mae Huff Wittie.  She graduated from Desdemona High School and Tarleton before marrying Grover William Mosier in 1955.  They lived in Carbon before moving to China Spring.  Dorothy finished her college degree at Mary Hardin Baylor and taught school at Valley Mills and Bynum.  Grover passed away in 1985.  After retiring in 1990, Dorothy loved to travel and make quilts.

Preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and her husband, Grover William; she is survived by four children; Shirley (Dick) Bates of Paducah, Emmett (Brenda) of Hewitt, Cathy Gremminger of West, and Tom (Catherine) of West; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
